What's the story?

We travelled to Shashemene and spent a couple of months there getting an idea of what this place was all about to the Outernational Rasta Community.

While we were there we realised that a lot of the elders had waited a long time for more people to turn up and lay claim to their land that had been given for repatriation, not many people did and years went by.

At this time much of the land that was originally given has now been taken back or put to other use due to political change within Ethiopia. On the other hand Rasta's are now building and living around the 500 hectares and other places all over Ethiopia.

We would like to spread the word of Shashemene and would encourage any one to go and see this beautiful land chosen by HaileSelassie I, which the Rastafari community have taken for their homeland, regardless of race or country of birth. Following the teachings of His Majesty.

It is said that about 300 Rastafari people live in "Jamaica" Shashemene. Still, there is room for many more and the Rastafari community of Shashemene welcome new comers with open arms and a big smile.

INVESTMENT

Business and Investment is welcomed and encouraged by the Ethiopian government, leaving many opportunities for resettlement in Shashemene.
